Ciarán Leonard

Raised in Luxembourg, educated in Belgium and holding a Bachelors degree in animation obtained in Brussels, I bring to my creative work a diverse background and a self-taught, eager-to-learn approach.

 

My passion for photography began over a decade ago, and I was soon drawn to video. Around 2015, I really started immersing myself in photography and videography, realizing that I wanted to pursue a career in a creative field. After finishing high school, I spent a year at an art prep school. It was there that I discovered animation and fell in love with the idea of combining the skills I'd developed in photography and videography to create even more creative works. The following year, I entered the ERG in Brussels to study for a Bachelor's degree in animation. During my studies, I continued to work in photography and videography while trying out different animation techniques. In my second and third years, I concentrated on 3D animation, with the help of my classmates, teachers and online courses.

 

After obtaining my diploma I worked as a freelancer for a few months in Luxembourg, primarily focusing on photography and videography. I then moved to Montreal, where I worked as a barista while I expanded my portfolio and worked on personal projects. My adaptability, self-motivation and passion for learning are the main drivers of my creative journey.
